Florida · Talk to a ProAdvisor
Speak to a Florida QuickBooks ProAdvisor — free, no sales pitch.
Book a call with an actual QuickBooks ProAdvisor who works with Florida businesses. We review your own QuickBooks file, answer your questions, and tell you honestly what you need — bookkeeping setup, cleanup, monthly management, or advisory. No obligation, no call-center. This is an independent firm’s advisory line, not Intuit or QuickBooks product support.
A QuickBooks ProAdvisor reviews your own QuickBooks file. What this team does is the bookkeeping and advisory work inside your books.
For an Intuit account, billing, or login issue, contact Intuit directly; for filing Florida tax returns or representation, your CPA or EA handles that.
You are reaching TechBrot. This is NOT Intuit, NOT QuickBooks support, and NOT Intuit’s ProAdvisor referral line. “QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification held by a named member of this firm from Intuit; it does not mean Intuit affiliation. If you need help with an Intuit account, billing, subscription, login, or QuickBooks product support, contact Intuit directly — this team cannot access your Intuit account. What this team does: bookkeeping and advisory on your own books — QuickBooks setup, cleanup, monthly management, and CFO-level advisory for Florida businesses. The full picture is below.
TechBrot does not provide Intuit account, billing, or product support and does not file Florida tax returns.
The short version.
Speaking to a TechBrot ProAdvisor is a free, no-obligation call with an actual QuickBooks ProAdvisor who works with Florida businesses — not a salesperson, and not Intuit. We review your own QuickBooks file, answer your questions, and tell you honestly what you need: setup, cleanup, monthly bookkeeping, or advisory.
One boundary up front, so no one wastes a call: this is not Intuit and not QuickBooks product support. “QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification held by a named member of this firm from Intuit; it doesn’t mean Intuit affiliation. For an Intuit account, billing, subscription, or login problem, contact Intuit directly — we can’t access your Intuit account. And for filing Florida tax returns or representing you before the Florida Department of Revenue, that’s your CPA or EA. What we do is the bookkeeping and advisory work inside your own books.
Is a ProAdvisor call the right call?
A discovery call with this team is about your own books — how your QuickBooks file is set up and run. The split below tells you where to go.
Call us
Talk to a ProAdvisor if…
Your call is about how your own books and QuickBooks file are set up and run. A QuickBooks ProAdvisor can help with:
- Your QuickBooks file is a mess and you want an honest read
- You’re behind and need cleanup or catch-up
- You want monthly bookkeeping by a named ProAdvisor
- You have Florida-specific questions (6%+surtax sales tax by county, the taxability of services, the 5.5% corporate tax, tangible personal property)
- You want CFO-level advisory once the books are clean
Contact Intuit
Contact Intuit directly if…
These are Intuit account or product matters this team cannot access or resolve:
- Intuit billing, subscription, or a charge on your account
- A login, password, or account-access problem
- A QuickBooks product bug, crash, or how-to in the software
- Anything that requires signing into your Intuit account
If you’re not sure which side you’re on, call anyway — we’ll tell you honestly in two minutes whether it’s a books question for us or an account question for Intuit, and point you the right way.
A real conversation, not a sales funnel.
You speak with a QuickBooks ProAdvisor — the kind of person who would do or oversee the work — not a salesperson and not a product-support queue. We listen first, review your file if you share access, and tell you honestly what you need, what it costs, and whether we are the right fit.
The call runs the same way wherever you are, so it is written up once: how a discovery call works, step by step →. What changes by state is the second half of that call — what Florida actually requires of your books, below.
What Florida actually requires of your books.
Florida callers are usually relocating, growing into new counties, or working out what the 2025 commercial-rent repeal changed. All three land in the same place: the sales-tax setup, which in Florida is a per-county question.
The surtax is by county, and it is destination-based
Florida’s 6% state rate is joined by a county discretionary surtax of 0.5–2.5%, sourced to where the customer receives the goods — a combined maximum around 8.5%.
In the file: One rate across 67 counties is the most common Florida setup error we see. Delivery-address-driven rates are the fix, and they have to exist on the item and the customer record.
Commercial-rent tax was repealed in October 2025
Florida was the only state taxing commercial leases. As of October 2025 landlords and tenants no longer collect or remit it.
In the file: Files still carrying the rent-tax item keep accruing a liability that no longer exists. Retiring the item and clearing the balance is a five-minute job that nobody does until someone looks.
Only C-corps owe Florida income tax
The 5.5% corporate income tax applies to C-corporations, with a $50,000 exemption. S-corps, LLCs and partnerships owe no Florida income tax at all.
In the file: Entity type therefore decides whether the file needs a state income-tax accrual. Getting this wrong in either direction distorts the P&L.
Nexus excludes marketplace sales
Economic nexus is $100,000 of taxable Florida sales in the prior calendar year, sales-only — and marketplace-facilitated sales are excluded from the count.
In the file: For an ecommerce seller that distinction is the whole answer, and it depends on the books separating marketplace from direct revenue.
Every figure above is maintained against Florida’s own published sources and updated when those sources change. Full detail on the Florida page →.

Talking to a Florida ProAdvisor, in five questions.
Is TechBrot the same as Intuit or QuickBooks support?
No. TechBrot is a bookkeeping and advisory firm — not Intuit, not QuickBooks Customer Support, not QuickBooks Live, and not Intuit’s ProAdvisor referral line. “QuickBooks ProAdvisor” is a certification held by a named member of the firm from Intuit; it does not mean affiliation. For Intuit account or product help, contact Intuit directly.
What does speaking to a Florida ProAdvisor cost?
Nothing. The discovery call is free and no-obligation. You speak with an actual QuickBooks ProAdvisor about your own Florida books; if you want work done, you get a written fixed-fee scope within 3 business days.
What can a ProAdvisor call help with?
The accounting work inside your own books — QuickBooks setup, cleanup, catch-up, monthly bookkeeping, Florida specifics (6%+surtax sales tax by county, the taxability of services, the 5.5% corporate tax, tangible personal property), and CFO-level advisory.
What can’t this call help with?
Intuit account, billing, subscription, or login issues, and QuickBooks product bugs — those require Intuit, which we can’t access. And filing Florida returns or representation before the Florida Department of Revenue is your CPA’s or EA’s.
Will I get a sales pitch?
No. You speak with a QuickBooks ProAdvisor who would do or oversee the work, not a salesperson. If TechBrot isn’t the right fit, we’ll say so — and point you toward who is.
